Melee wasn't always observant. She had grown up safely since her birth (as far as she knew) and had never had cause to be concerned about what was happening around her. This was an extreme case of her not paying attention, but mostly she focused on what she wanted to do. Her distrust of others had also not developed, because no one had ever intended her harm. Though Scorpius's mother didn't like her, that didn't mean that Naniko had come after her or anything. That was just a regular "you can't see him" bit, it wasn't really a threat... at least not a deadly one. At least, Melee didn't know that it was a lethal threat if it was. She just assumed it was a parent doing what they did best: being overprotective of their almost-grown young.

Ouija was polite and he had a neat coat coloration; she liked him instantly. Like him, though, she was a social butterfly and there were few wolves that she did not like. The girl was almost reminded of Scorpius in some ways. The thought made her smile more than she already had been. Thinking about her masked friend tended to do that to her. She didn't know what it was about him, but sometimes he made her stomach do somersaults deep down in her guts. There was something about him that she just couldn't place... something special that made her want to be near him. Mel needed to go visit him again soon. For now, though, she was content with different company.

As he lifted her up, she didn't even consider the potential inappropriate positioning of the male. Sex was something that she knew little to nothing about. She knew that it produced puppies and that she was coming of an age to potentially start desiring it. So far, nothing of the sort had happened though. Her innocent little crush on Scorpius was not sensual. It was cute and silly and young. When she reached the branch, she looked down at her pal. "Got it!" she said so that he knew he could release her. She then looped herself over the branch and sat with it between her legs. "Come on up! Let's see how high we can get..." she would help him up if needed.

The pair spent the day climbing trees and chatting. Mostly about nothing in particular and she learned he was in the same pack as Scorpius. She filed away that information for later, but did not ask pressing questions about Scorpius or Naniko. Given their secretive nature, she didn't want to make Ouija angry with her. Maybe later she could visit or see him again and ask questions. They parted ways on good terms.
