No worries! Big Grin

Melee reflected on the difference between hunting in the optime form as opposed to the lupus form. There was a lot more involved. One had to prepare weapons to kill the animal because there wasn't as much emphasis on teeth as a means to kill. They also had to consider the coordination of limbs that had dual purposes. Instead of having one purpose - walking or running - the limbs were separated into two distinct categories: arms and legs. They had to work together to take down their prey, but their jobs were so very different. The legs had to get them running toward the prey while their arms prepared the weapon with which they might kill their food. Which was why she had been working on honing her optime hunting skills - they were far clumsier than her lupus skills.

The results had been mixed. With a half day of hunting, she had managed to miss four separate meals that she would have undoubtedly caught in her lupus form. She had learned some things in all of her hunting, though. For instance, she couldn't really expect to chase down the small animals. Whereas she might have been able to follow them in her lupus form, her optime form was too large to get through the underbrush. This lesson had left her with scrapes across her knees and lower legs, as well as a few burrs that she had picked out of her coat. Melee had decided that she would try one last time at the base of the mountain. If that didn't work, she would go home and eat something there. Either that or shift into her lupus form for some hunting, which she was certain would garner more results than her previous attempts. The Soul girl wasn't one who liked to give up, but there was a point where her hunger would overcome her desire to succeed in this form. Already, her stomach was grumbling.

Melee was so intent upon her prey - a small rabbit - that she wasn't even aware of anything else around her. All of her senses were honed on the animal, her claws were ready to grab it tight and kill it. Her ears were forward as she crouched on the balls of her feet. The young wolf abruptly sprang forward, running toward the rabbit. Completely, blissfully unaware of the closeness of Inferni's borders and the close proximity of a stranger. Focusing only on her grumbling stomach and the meal she hoped was soon to come. The rabbit darted away as soon as it heard the thud of her paws on the ground, it headed right toward Sa'adat in its own stupidity. If the Inferni female didn't move out of the way, it was likely that Melee was on a collision course to run directly into the other canine. Because by the time she looked up, the girl was going to be too late to stop herself. Certainly a collision would be a very interesting way to say hello.
