It was entirely with hesitation that Silvano pulled himself away from Giselle. Suddenly, everything felt to be too cold and empty now that the two of them had separated. The fireflies seemed to start to fade into the darkness, as though they were all heading to bed, and back to their other lives. The ball had ended and they were leaving. But who was Cinderella tonight? Silvano felt her hand slip from his and from his hand, and he was forced to stand straight and let his own arm go to his own waist. "Thank you for the dance.. Giselle." It almost sounded as though the Sadira had more to say to the young woman, but he found that there was nothing he could say in good conscience. He should not ruin the night with words that Giselle didn't want to hear.

She suddenly hugged him, and the Sadira felt his heart stop in his chest. Then it started to beat again when she pulled away. The two of them headed back to the picnic basket through the darkness, and Silvano could not help but glance at the young woman. He looked at the back of her head, and wanted to know so desperately what she was thinking of. But he could not ask her at all. No sound came from his throat as he turned his back on the fireflies. The memory was always going to be there, but the young man did not want to walk away from it. It had been something he had never experienced before. And it was far too good to miss out on. But he had to keep walking away with Giselle. And once she read the note, Silvano did not know what twist their relationship would take. He was sure she would have to say something to him about it.

When they reached the picnic basket, the two of them cleaned up quietly, stilling reeling from the experience of the dance. Silvano did not know what to say anyway. Only a few things were spoken between them, but they mostly walked back to the mansion in soft silence, holding the things in their arms.
