The fire crackled and burned brightly as Rio cut her freshly caught rabbit into pieces. She cleanly cut slabs of meat off the small creature’s body and pierced them with a stick and then stuck the sticks in the ground. The meat hung over the fire just close enough to be cooked at a normal temperature. They wouldn’t burn too fast. She had about five different sticks all placed accordingly. The meat sizzled, but didn’t burn.

The black female continued to cut into the rabbit, taking out the valuable organs and throwing the rest to the side. She staked heart with one of her knives and held it over the fire as well. She didn’t cook it as much as the meat was cooking, and soon took it away from the flame. She bit into it kind of savagely, blood gushing from it still. The blood stained her lips, even though one wouldn’t be able to tell due to her dark fur. She believed that eating the heart would bring her strength and love. It was also the best delicacy in any prey animal.

The female was so absorbed in her heart treat that she wasn’t paying attention to anything else. The meat was cooking nicely, but that wasn’t Rio’s concern. Anyone could approach, but that also wouldn’t be Rio’s concern. If someone laid a paw on her food, that would be Rio’s concern. A vicious look rose in her eyes as she thought about what she would be willing to do in order to punish the thief.

Usually, she was a pretty civil wolf. She didn’t go all out savage on others, but when others cross the line it’s a different story. Everyone should know their place, and when they get out of line is when they will be taught to stay in it.
