He was keeping close to home lately. The house that Zafier and the kids had fixed up together was seemingly just what they needed. It had plenty of rooms and more importantly, it was closer to the hotel and the heart of the pack. The King liked being closer to the heart of the pack, and it gave him the opportunity to keep a closer eye on the members of his pack. Notably, he had noticed in absence of their Apothecary and would likely be trying to find her soon. It worried him that something may have happened to her.
Vigilante's primary reason for staying close to home was not to make himself more acquainted with the house, but rather to keep himself close if Ayita needed him. He did not know exactly when the puppies were due, as he had not even expected them in the first place, but they had to be coming soon. Surely his mate had a better idea of when they would come.
The reason came faster than he expected, though, as Zafier found him and spoke quickly. He had been treating the King with more respect lately, finally after almost two years of being around, but Vigilante was not concerned with this right now. He made his way home quickly, only stopping when he reached the open door to their room. "Is it time?" he asked breathlessly.
