Most dramatic, perhaps? 
The sun burned down from above as she padded along, four paws moving swiftly along the terrain. The little girl had been lost for quite some time now, and every twist and turn brought a new terror for her to run away from. She'd been running through the plains for what felt like years, though it had in fact only been a couple of days. She didn't know how to hunt yet and was unprepared for the world in general; her stomach grumbled angrily as she forced herself to continue, tongue lolling out of her mouth as pant after pant rasped out. She had to get to it, the sanctuary that she had been told about after her birth. She was determined, but things just kept getting in her way. She was afraid of most things and kept getting continually frightened off by one ghost or monster or the next. She refused to stop for almost any reason other than thirst, hunger, or general exhaustion.
The puppy finally came to a stop as she reached the edge of a crystal-clear lake. Jade eyes peered into the water at the dark shapes as they moved beneath the surface, heart pounding in her ears from the long run that she had just finished and from apprehension and anxiety, as well. She didn't deal well with new situations, and everything here was new. She put her paw down into the water out of instinct, batting at one of the shapes. It darted away from her paw and she groaned a bit, turning back around to flop down onto her side for a moment of rest by the lakeside. She was never going to eat at this point...and her diet of bugs wouldn't be able to sustain her for much longer. Her belly felt empty each night no matter how many grasshoppers she swallowed alive.
