If he was being honest, which was his general preference, he was recovering nicely. Although Turnstone's left ear was no longer with him, he was feeling better than he had in days. A very kind healer by the name of Cambria had patched him rather nicely, and Turnstone had left the encounter with a strange fluttering feeling in his stomach. He tried not to think about this feeling too much because he knew he had fallen behind in his studies. He had brought only a few items with him during his journey, and one was a hand-written copy of Prosper Mérimée's Carmen. Although the book upon which it had been copied had long since fallen apart, his family had managed to keep this alive through the times. Unfortunately, for Turnstone, the writing was in French and he was far from proficient. Since he fancied himself a savant, he knew a number of ancient phrases, convenient for quoting, but nothing else.

So, he was staring at his stacks of homemade paper with writing he could barely understand. It looked very beautiful, and although he was somewhat proficient reading English, this was a complete mystery to him. He recognized some words, but otherwise, they were completely foreign to him.

He exhaled slowly and quietly and then stood up to stretch. He let out a loud yawn before bending down to gather up his papers and place them in his leather sac. Like everything he owned, it was luperci-made and therefore a little rough. The leather was rough but sturdy, and better yet, water-proof. He sat down again and set the bag on his lap, unsure of what to do next. He could enter the manor and see if anyone needed assistance on a hunt, or perhaps he could try to meet some more of his fellow pack mates. Of course he had already met Cambria, but otherwise, it was a mystery to him. He just wanted to learn more about what was going on to figure out why he'd gotten injured. It was a very confusing time for him, after all.
