The silvery woman woke up in the morning, albeit begrudgingly, and found herself staring at the disintegrated building above her. The morning light filtered in, though her bed was below the last of the ceiling and was shaded. The optime lady stretched her legs, yawned, and curled back up into a ball again. She had no reason to get up, nothing going on today. She sighed, and watched the little specks of dust play in the morning light. She wasn’t needed anywhere. What a depressing thought to wake up to.

She stayed this way for several hours, idly resting, until her empty belly made her get up. Her hunger got the best of the Associate, she hadn’t eaten in a while and it was quite a dreadful feeling invading her body. Sighing, she shifted to her four-legged form and ran out of the ruins, into the sparse other lands that she frequented. An hour or so went by, with Magnolia only catching a few hares and rabbits. Still hungry, the girl kept moving. She was silent, walking briskly, but still determined to find more food. Her stomach was still grumbling, and the girl pouted. This wasn’t going to be easy, was it?

Finally. There. A flash of brown caught her eye, and she followed it, stalking it in the high grass like a cat. A spotted fawn and its family were on alert, but Maggie kept her silence and slunk into the vegetation. She smiled, hoping she could bring something back to her pack that would be appreciated. After a while Maggie noticed the fawn was limping, and soon the family relaxed again after a moment of panic. Now grinning, the girl waited for perfect moment to strike. It almost seemed as if they’d never move closer, but one of the stags chose to graze in the field she was hidden in. The limping fawn followed its father, and with a flash Maggie attacked. The fawn got away, but the fast girl caught it, gripped its neck with all she had, and took it down. The rest of the herd ran away, but Maggie got her prize. She was positively beaming, blood covering her face, as she dug in and satiated the hunger in her stomach.

This was an occasion to be celebrated! Magnolia got her big kill for the first time, without messing up. After having her fill she girl shifted back into her preferred form, and carried the carcass back to her home, blood running down her stomach. She wanted to share this with her new family. As she walked through the ruins with the fawn she howled as loudly as she could, singing of food and celebration. The deer was placed upon a makeshift table made out of a pile of tree bark, and in a flurry of anxiousness the girl quickly cleaned her modest home, brushing away the leaf litter and arranging her jewelry on the floor in the neatest way possible.

A bubble of excitement poured out of her very full belly as she waited for whoever would make it over to her home. Is it my birthday? the associate asked herself after a time, jade eye wide with wonder. Lolita had said she was born late in the summer, when the winds brought the scent of fall into the air. Beaming, she let out a yip of happiness as she continued to arrange her pretties on the floor, tail wagging eagerly. The thought of Foxglove and Niro crossed her mind, temporarily casting a shadow on her face. She wondered if Foxglove knew it was her birthday too. Maggie sighed momentarily, but pushed the sad thoughts clouding her mind out. Now was not a time to be sad.

Magnolia made her way across the room, and looked at Kimbra lovingly. She adored her new pet! Since returning from the Kingdom, she had been focusing on her new friend to get the bird to trust her. It had taken a long time, with each day Magnolia earning Kimbra’s trust a little more. Today, the bird stood on her perch, watching the wolf’s activities with an air of curiosity. You’re going to meet everyone today! she said to the other duotoned female, wishing the little thing could understand her. Maybe she could. Who knew.
