Hybrid was growing more and more concerned with the second. What was going on? It looked like an unknown Inferni coyote was with some of the puppies -- his puppies -- down on the beach. It was definitely neither Talitha nor Valkyrie and Hybrid had not authorized anyone else to look after them. Well, Talitha or Valkyrie might have passed off the children to someone else, but then there would be hell to pay. Hybrid needed these children to grow so that he could make them into the ideal Infernians; his plan would not work if they were dead. As much as he didn't want to admit it, Hybrid wanted some sort of legacy.

It wasn't until another coyote approached and spoke of a 'brown thing running' that Hybrid really began to wonder. This wasn't just some random stranger: there had to be intent here.

Apparently, Kesho noticed it quicker than he could, for in a flash, the older coyote had taken off. Hybrid bounded after the other and then stopped and shot a glance over his shoulder to the other unknown coyote.

"Find Gabre-- I mean -- find Ezekiel! Quick!" He bellowed out the words and picked up the pace again as he shouted the last one. He tried to run through the sand, and luckily, was able to get enough traction to push himself forward. He wasn't as quick as Kesho, so he made a point of pushing himself to get between this mysterious coyote and the children. He still didn't understand what the fuck was going on.
