HIDE YOUR INNOCENCE BEFORE THEY SEE RIGHT THROUGH
This post feels funky for some reason, sorry. :x
The woman was silent after he explained the situation about their half-brother, averting her gaze. The boy didn’t really mind it, assuming the silence to be a by-product of her contemplating the facts. He sat back and stretched his arms over his head for a brief moment with a relaxed sigh. She seemed surprised that he’d never tried to cook his meat before. He supposed it was kind of odd that he’d never bothered with it before. The Acidic boy spent a lot of his time building up fires for the pack, and from the looks of it, that seemed like the hardest part of cooking. He didn’t have much of an excuse there. Well, it would be an easy enough thing to change, right? Especially since Caprica seemed willing to share, asking him to test it out for her. He graciously accepted the piece she offered to him, a grateful smile lighting up his face. “Hey, sure. Thanks, man.” The meat was warm and tender, and juicy enough to make it really stand out from how he usually ate it. “Ah, dang, this is good stuff,” he said, nodding in approval. “Guess I’ve been missing out all this time, huh?” He laughed.
