Odessa reached the clearing where the Valerian grew thickly, a brief smile gracing her snout as she fumbled about in her bag quickly, searching for the knife she usually carried with her. A sharp pain corsed through her finger and when she produced it along with the knife, scarlet liquid. She shook her head loosly, using her other hand to slip off the bag and kneel down. She opened up the bag more, taking out a scrap of cloth and a tub. Odessa wipped the blood onto it and opened the tub with her free hand. The tub was full of a light coloured cream, 'Aloe Vera' Odessa said smiling. One of the digits on the unbloodied hand scooped up a lump of it. She applied it to the cut gently, before tiding up her supplies. Carefully keeping her knife to the side.
Branches clicked somewhere in the distance, Odessa's soot tipped ears swiveled towards the soft echos that bounced through the trees, paying little attention for the time being. At least until it came close enough to be something dangerous. Grey fingers worked effortlessly, slicing away at the ground, uprooting the plant, before shaking off the soil and placing them within her ready prepared box. The cracking sticks became louder and finally she called out, 'Hello?'
