Hoping shorter posts are okay because I suck/want to post on this during the week. XD; Foredated to October 6^th.

A wolf tiptoeing near the borders of Inferni was usually an unfortunate thing, both for the guarded clan and the hapless transgressor. But this wolf was here on a mission, however ill-defined. He was tracking Zeke, though Sage and Valkyrie also crossed his mind. He just needed a change of scenery, a change of company; not that his iridescent, colourful, sparkling property wasn't fun to look at, or that Axle and Grit weren't entertaining, but today he yearned for more. Regretfully, he was beginning to associate Hilsburn with Labour and Business—not Escape and Relaxation. Still, the mocha hybrid had much to show for his efforts and knew things would wind down by the end of the month. With the stable's foundation complete and all building materials gathered, cut to length, and organised, the rest of the construction would go relatively quick.

He was, at any rate, confident enough in their past progress and future outlook to take a couple days off. His hired hands seemed to appreciate it, too, though they were bound to Halifax by contract. They seemed content there; they didn't ask a lot of questions or seem to expect much from life. The dogs certainly weren't dumb—especially that Axle, who occasionally surprised Barrett with something profound or insightful—but they were simply content to serve some purpose, better yet that they were guaranteed a roof over their heads and an endless supply of 'treats.' Barrett, however, grew bored when confronted with the same routines day in and out... so here he was. He continued to pad quietly along the outskirts of the clan, body language humble, pace lethargic, and mind blank. Every so often, he'd stop to sniff the ground. Hmm...
