Unwelcome faces

Maska calls a day-time meeting with the tribesmembers to announce a raid on Cour des Miracles on the same evening, a retaliation of CdM's attack on AniWaya.

Realism note: Hardly any members have had access to the prisoners' cabin, and thus only a handful of members know that Foxglove was in fact imprisoned in AniWaya (those attendinf Ralla's secret meeting in August would know). Unless you have specifically threaded with Foxglove, in the meeting, or at the prisoners' location, your character cannot know this.

AW, no post order.

He burned with anger. At first, they had struggled to get an overview of the situation - the attack was entirely unexpected. Maska knew of the pack's existence through his scouts' tales, but had not thought to meet them just yet. He had some plans to do so, but Crimson Dreams was a more imminent threat. Or so he had thought. He had stood fuming at the prisoners' cabin the night before. Anu was gone - Foxglove was gone. The guilty party of Foxglove's disappearance was easy to figure out; they did leave tracks in one way and another as they penetrated their territory and escaped it with his prisoner. Anu's disappearance was a darker chapter, and it did not anger him less. Calling the meeting would make it public that his Guardians and himself had failed, but it had to be done. Defeat left a sour taste on his tongue, but it would not last. Foxglove would be returned.

He calmly studied them as they arrived. Many of the Guardians knew already - no doubt they talked amongst themselves. Maska was growing weary from all the activity on that end of the tribe: even coyotes had come to steal from them like lowly scum. Well, they would show them they were not an easy pick, but could bite as well. Once most of them had arrived, his thin voice broke free and addressed them. "Cour des Miracles have come thieving in the night, taking Foxglove from us." Such pathetic notions from all these neighbors. No wonder Dawali was on such good terms with them - they were all morally flaky as far as Maska was concerned. His voice grew louder and Sikyatavo jumped forward quickly, ears perked and showing his interest. "This attack is not only unjust, but also unprovoked. Cowards, they would not stay to face our warriors like warriors ought to, but ran - taking Foxglove with them." He paused. "We will retrieve her. I ask this of you: we need many to penetrate their home and take her back. Their injustice must be corrected, tonight!" Speaking before crowds had not given him much pleasure in the past, but the more he did it, the more he liked it. Maska smiled carefully, his arms outstretched as they had been when he delivered the final note of his speech.
