Vysengi had come from the Great Tribe, a lesser son in a big family. He had come to prove himself to Maska and find himself a place in this tribe of AniWayans. So far, so good. But he had hoped he would find himself spending the night of the raid in the background, back at his tent where he could rest and sleep off the damage.
The sun had been halfway down the horizon when the raiding party had began to stalk into the territory of the Dreamers. The scent markers were past and they were approaching the place they had told them to go. They were supposed to be capturing someone, someone who had escaped the tribe's hold and was now running free again. Maska had said that retrieving their lost flower had been of utmost importance. And Vysengi obeyed. It was not his place to question what his leader wanted. He was a hand and that was all.
He checked that his daggers were on his belt one last time before letting out a loud growl, following the charge of the leader. He would be useful, as he was taught and as he wanted to be. They were downwind of the other Dreamers, and their scent was heavy on the air like some thick fog. Their scent was so foreign to the warrior male, something that he did not like.
