Liam seemed pleased with his victory, as he damn well should. It had been a close one, as the Court wolf said. Jackson had even had a slight head start, and he’d still managed to lose. The rowdiness of youth made him somewhat competitive, sure, but he wasn’t about to get bent out of shape at the loss. Jackson had had fun with it regardless, and that was what the hybrid boy was all about these days. Besides, there were other ways to settle the score. Yeah, man, Jackson began, grinning up at his new friend, You better watch out. I might just steal the win from ya next time. Whenever that next time might be was fine by him—Jackson wasn’t in any real hurry. Liam seemed like a real cool guy, and Jackson thought it could be fun for them to hang out again sometime. Who knows what life would throw their way.

Jackson followed the other to where the poor, unfortunate raccoon was lying a short distance away. He peered down at it with cerulean eyes as Liam crouched down for a better look at the dead thing. Dunno. Maybe the city was just too much awesome for it to handle. Yup, those birds had certainly done a number on it already. Or had that happened before the birds arrived? Well, either way, Jackson didn’t have much time to consider it, for a moment later Liam pointed out a location just perfect for treasure hunting. Ohh, I like the sound of that! Treasure! He laughed, a grin lighting up his features once again. Onward to the treasure! he proclaimed, pointing his staff towards the dilapidated building and beginning to march toward it. The old building looked like it had had one hell of a time out here too. What could have happened to that thing?
