Blood as sweet and red...

OOc: Thought I'd bring the archer down... er, let me know if I should change that.

Leon marched along with the group quietly as they broke from the main group and headed for one of the paths to the villages center. His Naginata was loftily held over his shoulder as he listened to the sounds ringing through the air. The clanging of metal weapons, growls and shouts of rage and pain, and the occasional sound of hooves as mounted fighters raced about the field. The Timber's eyes traversed his companions while they cautiously moved up the street. They had picked up Niro in their wake as they entered the town, and the Dreamer had been pleased to see man, though he regretted the circumstances. He also recognized Deuce with them, though the other Dreamers were unknown to him.

The group moved steadily up the street, with Deuce and a male Dreamer leading the way. Leon's eyes moved about the path, and between the buildings, searching intently for any of Aniwaya's guardians. He moved off to an adjoining street, looking for a way onto the roofs. His silence belied the storm raging within the man, who was finally allowed to bring the fight to Aniwaya. But his rage was quelled at the scale of the battle. He was not new to violence, war, or battles of this scale. But the thought of the deaths brought about by the fighting made his heart sink. This was going to be a long night.

As he roused from his reverie, his ear twitched as a war cry erupted from ahead, a distinct metallic ring echoing after it. Leon looked up to the roof tops as he heard the call of alarm, trying to find a quick way back to the other street. His eyes picked out several footholds, and he immediately began climbing, listening to the sounds of the scuffle on the next street. He cursed himself for moving away from the others as he jumped and caught the edge of the roof. The man pulled himself up and rushed to the opposite edge to look down into the street. He saw a woman attacking the two leading the group, the man stepping back while Deuce tangled with the attacker. Niro was moving to assist the white woman, while another of the group moved to get around the fighting woman.

Leon heard sound to his side and turned to see the second woman, bow in hand, firing into the street. He growled softly and turned to attack her. The woman noticed him and turned the weapon upon him, loosing an arrow. The Timber grunted as the arrow slammed into his left shoulder, and he staggered, off balance. With a shake of his head, the man grinned and ran at the woman, bringing his weapon to bear in his right hand. He twitched away as a second arrow cut across his cheek, then swung his pole-arm in a horizontal arc, knocking her bow aside. His full three hundred forty pound body slammed into hers immediately after, sending both tumbling from the roof. He hit the ground hard and felt a sharp pain in his left arm as he rolled. Cyan eyes found the arrow snapped in half, and his right hand reached up to hold his left shoulder. 'Stupid choice...'
