How Loud Are the Drums of War?

I'm having Mati charge the door... though she definitely needs help from the other Dreamers/CDMers!

Mati ran with the others. Her thoughts focused on a single task, and a single result. The woman did not look like the painter, nor the pupsitter that she had been ranked. She did not look like the placid form that often spent hours simply staring at the colors of the sky or mixing paints again and again for the perfect hue. Her smile was gone, her purple eyes no longer soft and glimmering with a bright creative excitement. No, she was now a woman that faced those that had taken everything from her.

After days of weeping, of feeling helpless and broken Mati had taken up a weapon and readied herself to face her opponent. She had gone to the place where her beloved was stolen, and faced the scent of Cambria and the fear that lingered there. The thoughts of their hands on her had almost brought her to her knees. But instead of crumbling the Church female had taken up the long shepherds staff that leaned on the cottage door where her mate's scent had been the strongest and vowed to see the Marino beauty returned to her. By any means possible.

Her heart pounded in her ears, eyes darting through the action that surrounded her. She left the main fighting to look for the prisoners, a place her mother had been and had described to her in detail. She knew the direction, and headed there with a fury. Others could be seen, pack mates rushing through the village in the hopes of finding the lost members of their family. Mati called out to them, waving them in the direction that would lead hopefully lead them to Cambi and the others.

A cabin lay in the distance, one fighter already engaged with one of the Guardians. Without pausing in her step she ran towards the cabin, staff held with both hands.
