For anyone, set in the afternoon

Silvano had decided today he would brave heading north to Halifax, taking the long amount of time needed to travel there, but it was such a long journey. His two daggers were on his waist, which was feeling heavier than usual with the presence of the two weapons. It was hard, though, to separate with them now. War was over, fighting done, but still the worry remained. His mindset was still in self-defense mood, and he could hardly be faulted for that. He had been almost stabbed in his own home, and almost had the girl he cared for stolen before his very eyes. What was he supposed to feel, happy as a clam?

He paused under a willow, a quiet pond bubbling happily where small streams fed into it. The smell of fall was so thick in the air he could hardly smell the weather; he had no idea if it was going to rain or if snow was on its way. But he knew that it was still a little bit warm, even though the breeze was terribly chilly when it blew. It would have been nice to take out Heritage, but the colt was still almost untrained, and he was unfit to ride; he was not yet strong enough to carry passengers and lighter loads were the only thing he could carry. Silvano sighed, slipping against the trunk of the tree, his back pressing against the rough texture. Maybe it was a stupid idea to go the City, it was already midafternoon adn he had hardly gotten himself anywhere.
