Vivere è bello

The young female wolf blinked as the man spoke little words, his quietness a sound of such serenity, she thought. He certainly was a peaceful one. She smiled as the man mentioned her child. "Ah, yes..my son, Nikolas."

Standing to all fours, she turned, facing to the south and released an abrupt, strict bark into the air. Pausing for a brief moment, she waited and listened, standing perfectly still with her ears alert. From out of the tall grass, a soft padding noise from the ground could be heard. A small dark grey pup had appared, his little tail was wagging with anticipation and his mother came running forward to greet him. She licked the side of his cheek, once again reunited.

The clever pup soon realized that there was a stranger here present. Once he caught hold the scent, he turned to look. Not seeming much of a threat, this man was simply lounging alongside a tree. He soon returned to his mother a few feet away and sat down next to her. She looked down at her son as she spoke."This particular forest happens to be so peaceful and quiet, one could easily hear close to three miles away."

Anya was but a mere wolf, yet as one, she has maintained the skills the very same ancient wolves have perfected. She's learned how to hear every leaf fall to this earth, to every bird flying in the sky, above.Taking in the cold, cleansing, fresh autumn air, she took in a deep breath to refresh her heart, mind, body and soul. She lived in the moment, not carrying with her the burdens of the past and future. She returned her gaze back to the male.

"As to why we travel alone, well..Nikolas has never known his father. Our home was raided by a group of wolves. We've traveled long distances to make it here. Not all of us has had the opportunity to be born of luperci blood. You have many great resources and athleticism, making life and travel so much easier."

She sighed.Truly, the wolf admired the stunning hybrids, with their long, lean legs and smooth muscle. They were beautiful creatures and she wished that she could be one too. She just simply lacked the knowledge of how to become one.
