She wanted to share with him and him alone, did she? Denver grinned, chuckling at the thought; Maggie's company had always been enjoyable, and it had been so long since his last drink. The bottle was large enough for the two of them to share, and he was certain that it would get them good and drunk. "Ahh, well alright," he agreed, more than happy to partake in some of the bitter-sweet drink. "Get 'er open, then," he encouraged, the pop of the cork music to his ears as Maggie did so.
Denver watched as she took her first sip, wondering if she'd ever even had a taste of alcohol before. Her reaction gave answer enough, and he grinned as she coughed, trying to keep it down. It was not the tastiest of beverages, but it was something he'd grown to like. She passed it to him, and he took a large mouthful, gulping it down with pleasure as she spoke. His gaze cast down briefly at the mention of that day, but he had no regrets about it. Magnolia was lighter of heart than Denver, and he knew that it had affected her more. Pale eyes found hers and he nodded, "'Course we can," he said reassuringly, handing the bottle back to her after another sip. Scooting sideways, he propped himself up against the wall, his hands locked behind his head. "What's botherin' you so much about it?"
