Perhaps he'd been a bit rash in assuming she didn't want him along. Perhaps she'd just been worried that he thought travelling was all sunshine and daisies? He nodded in understanding, and took off his backpack, supporting it against the side of the same trunk Hel was leaning on. He wasn't especially tired right now, since he'd normally travelled by day.
