Kostya didn’t know much about fighting in this form, but he knew enough to be aware that he had fucked up royally. Rather than pushing the other wolf away from him his forearm slash had instead given his opponent an opportunity to get under him.
Kostya flinched, waiting for teeth to sink into his throat. Instead he heard his opponent mutter something at him and pain run through his chest as her teeth sunk into it. Confusion that he was still alive flitted through his mind, breaking through the haze of rage and fear slightly; the level of skill his opponent had shown so far indicated that she would have been able to easily make the kill shot, yet she hadn't.
Still, confusion aside, he still had a coywolf latched onto his chest that he had to deal with, and he needed to deal with it quickly. Kostya wasn't in the best shape recently; it had been a long time since he had fought and he tended to do most of his hunting with a bow nowadays. He wasn't used to the level of movement fighting required and was tiring fast.
Throwing himself to the side Kostya landed heavily on his back and kicked upwards desperately with his hind legs, trying to get them underneath his assailant and kick her off.
