The gentle rasping sound of a knife running over wood filtered through the morning air, the low noise carrying unusually far in the silence that hung over the forest this morning.
Kostya was sat, cross-legged, by a small pond not that far from Inferni territory, though far enough from the border that he felt safe that he would not attract undue attention from their patrols and guards, Kostya had managed to survive his time in Drifter bay without angering either of the aggressive packs nearby, and intended to keep it that way.
However the pond was a very relaxing little chunk of the forest and had several different types of tree in one place, making it an excellent place for Kostya to get some woodwork done, so he had decided to risk it and spend the day there carving. So far everything had gone well, on the trip there Kostya had managed to catch four rabbits, three of which hung from a branch nearby him and one of which had already been eaten, and he hadn’t been disturbed yet despite his proximity to the border.
Small wooden items of varying use and quality were scattered around Kostya. Small figurines of various animals lay scattered nearby, with animals such as Bears and Coywolves being prominent among the figures; Kostya had been carving according to what as on his mind after all. Just in-front of Kostya a set of six freshly carved wooden dice lay on the ground and stacked towards his side were several wooden bowls.
Right now Kostya was working on a new bow, his latest having fallen prey to a cougar not too long ago when he had disturbed it along with a friend, trying to reclaim some food it had stolen from him. The bow was nearly finished, with most of the shaping already done; at the moment Kostya was absentmindedly smoothing the surface out with a small carving knife he had found on one of his trips to Halifax.
