It was starting to get colder, but Jackson was a-okay with that. He was pretty excited for the coming winter. He had been too young to really remember his first one. He vaguely remembered how snowy it had been around here when his father’s friend had first brought him over from New Brunswick, but that was about it. He wanted to really experience it, see just how much different it was from the summer. The boy was ignorant to just how intense the snowstorms could get in the thick of winter, but hey, ignorance was bliss, right?
But that was still some time off. He had the tail end of autumn left to still enjoy, taking in the colors of leaves as they fell from the deciduous trees in the area. It was the perfect backdrop for doing a little firewood gathering. The Ose was determined to keep the pack’s stock as filled as he could manage, especially with the change in season just around the corner. The boy had made his way down to the lushly forested valley, winding up at the old sawmill. He often liked to stem his searches out from there, as it gave him an excuse to poke around the old buildings before heading out into the forest to begin his work. The Acidic boy lurked around one of the smaller buildings clustered around the sawmill, cerulean eyes inspecting its weatherworn features. This wasn’t exactly what he’d come out here to do, but whatever. The work would still be waiting for him when he finished.
