For at least that night, Ralla would be staying on the borders of Cour des Miracles' territory, too modest to accept staying overnight in their lodgings...and also a little ashamed. It had been a custom--or at least an unspoken civility, since such a 'custom' would not have been regularly taught--that one would not sleep or impose on another's house if it was the home of an offended party; and the Court was certainly an offended party in light of recent events. Still, Ralla had come to try and make some sort of amends for past deeds, as she was one of the few original members of the tribe before Maska. The thought was sad--there had once been so many. And now they were few. Actually, Claudius was the oldest member still in the tribe, so Ralla deferred to his seniority in that area, at least.

Despite her brother being a member of this pack, she knew his mate-ship with the pack's second would compromise him to make an unseemly choice, so--he being raised of the same customs--she spared him and herself the humiliation, however small. She liked sleeping outside anyway; the stars were getting brighter, as they tended to do in the extremities of each season save the rainy. And the moon would be a beautiful crescent on this night to mirror the scar on her forehead; hopefully the correlation would bring good tidings, as she hoped every month. Nootau hooted from his position in the trees, the barn owl spirit guide playing a guard as she set up her small camp--which was little more than a blanket spread and a small fire. She had done what she could earlier--only time would heal what it could now, and she would certainly strive to maintain any good relations from then on out. Her meeting with Ulilohi in Crimson Dreams had not been unfavorable, and Ralla had high hopes for a new future.
