Scorpius had been spending less time near his home and seem to be spending more time around the pack that his dear friend Melee was from. He could still picture the day that he had met up with her and they reverted back to their old forms from when they were pups. It was nice to feel like that again, even if they both had gotten older. He was wondering what else the two of them would be able to do together. He was glad that she at least liked the gift that he had given to her. He thought it would have been perfect for her when he saw it back in Halifax. Perhaps he would be able to find her another gift if he went back. He was not sure if he would go there for any other reason, but he figured having a reason to see her again was more than enough.

The black wolf yawned as he woke from his slumber and rubbed his eyes, moving his mask up over the covered one to rub it. He was not sure what he was going to do today. He could have gone back to his duties and taken care of some maps, but he was not sure if that was what he wanted. Perhaps he should take his new horse out for a while and ride it. He had remembered Saul's teachings on how to ride a horse and he was really looking forward to the one he caught during the trade with his friend. He stretched out his limbs and got up as he began to head to the part of the cave where they kept all the horses. He looked around as he strolled in for his horse and soon spotted it over near the wall. He approached carefully, not sure how the creature would react. As he came closer, he stopped to look around. He didn't really have a saddle or equipment for his horse, nor did he know where he would be able to get some. The wolf soon shrugged his shoulders and got a rope and began to lead the horse out. The least he would be able to do in the meantime was make sure the two of them had a good relationship.

Scorpius soon led Midnight to the Aelcrest Shore. It was nice to be along the coast and great to get away from all the mountains. He could feel the soft sand in his paws as he walked along the shore line. He tried to stay a little close to the water, just in case the horse wanted to get a little wet. He wasn't too happy about the idea. It was getting into the colder days and he would rather stick to the light breeze that came from the sea, rather than the chill from the water. At one point, he began to look at the ground, noticing all the shells that he passed by. Perhaps Melee would like one. He began to look for a special one, one that he was sure would make her very happy.
