The young male stretched as he stood, easing the stiffness of his body with a stretch. He began the trek back, then paused as his eyes fell on someone curled up at the base of a tree. For a moment, he was certain it was Ayasha. And then in the growing sunlight, he began picking out detail he hadn't noticed before; specifically, the missing fur and the scars. The whispers increased, drowning out all other thoughts. He didn't question them, just walked over to her slowly. He knelt, his eyes on the tufts of white fur. She had been pure white, it looked like. He reached out slowly, his body moving quicker than his mind, giving the world a surreal slowness.
The fur that was there was soft, and would have been thick. She would have been beautiful, if it weren't for the blood, the bald patches. And yet, he could feel a stirring, a darkness rising to the surface. The dried blood still had a scent to him, and he leaned in slowly, drinking in deeply of her scent. His eyes half-closed as new feelings, fierce and wild, coursed through his body. He wanted her awake, he wanted to see her eyes. He wanted-
The butterflies threw thoughts and images at him, overwhelming him. He drew in a quick ragged breath. "Wake up." His voice was harsh, hoarse with a sudden desire. He wanted this woman, this sleeping stranger. All thoughts of Ayasha, his sweet love, were gone, replaced by a burning need he'd never known. He wanted this woman, and he wanted to be rough, to dig his claws into her skin, to hear her plead for mercy, to plead for more.
