The Eika had grown distrustful of the sea. It had been the ocean that had washed Arye into his life on the shores of Phoenix Valley. And when Pripyat found Arye dead it was as if the ocean was trying to reclaim her body as it ebbed slowly in the tide, nearly slipping away. The smoke colored man avoided the ocean most days, preferring the sanctuary of the Gampo or the looming trees of the Phoenix Forest. Pripyat no longer found the vast expanse of water intriguing and he no longer looked to the lapping waves for comfort. A new element had captured his fancy and the Pripyat found he fell into the role of fire keeper quite easily.
And so it was when, as he patrol the border in the absence of a Chen-Tao of Ichika, he saw the woman pulling her boat in. The male moved in his Secui form, swift and powerful when he patrolled. As long strides brought him quickly before the lady, his mind wandered back to Tawny, and the creature she called Fang. It the knowledge that bad things still happened, even in Ichika, caused Pripyat's voice to be less than friendly when he spoke out to the straggly coated collie. "You are close to the borders of claimed lands, miss. " Ocean eyes flitted over the boat suspiciously. "Where have you come from? Where are you going in that thing?" It was almost with disgust he gestured towards the boat, that thing falling off his tongue as if it the word tasted bad.
