creepers be creeping

The truth was, there was a reason that the girl had not been accosted yet. Salvia had been watching her for several long moments. There was a noisy horse nearby, and a child. That had surprised her. A child had come here and Salvia was worried that a parent had followed. As the girl crept about, a reddish streak that stood out due to both her own pelt and the ridiculous purple bow on her tail, Salvia finally reasoned that the child had come here by herself and was likely looking for trouble. Salvia’s training had kept her silent. She managed to follow at a distance, wary and still, her pelt darkening and similar in tone to the underbrush as winter advanced.

With a growl, she advanced from the underbrush. Her lupus form was massive compared to the coyote pup, and Salvia’s bristling fur heightened along her spine. A black tipped tail rose high, a warning flag, and she cut the girl off between the borders. “What do you think you’re doing, girl?” The deep voice rumbled forth, something as vicious as her father’s. Salsola would have no trespassers, let alone some foolhardy child.
