Neela was shocked by the aggressiveness in Jace's reaction toGrynn; having been around the bird for over two years it had been a long time since Neela had felt anything close to intimidated by Grynn, and it hadn't occurred to her that the bird might actually be a credible threat to a puppy.

Quickly she backed off half-a-dozen paces and turned her head to Grynn, "Grynn, go do some hunting please." she said quickly, prompting a squawk of anger from the bird, who had been enjoying her staring contest with the interesting little puppy. In response Neela let out a long piercing whistle, followed by several clicks and whistles of varying lengths. It wasn't perfect Low Speech, Neela being unable to make some of the more subtle noises, but it was close enough for Grynn, and most birds of similar species, to understand.

It took Neela about 20 seconds to explain the situation in more depth to Grynn before repeating her request, all in low speech. This time Grynn simply nodded and gave her an affectionate peck to the ear before directing a caw of farewell towards the puppy and launching herself off of Neela's shoulder. Neela's eyes followed her and the collie noted that Grynn had wisely chosen to fly off behind Neela, leaving the bird perfectly visible to Jace as she headed towards the nearby forest.

That taken care of Neela quickly turned her attention pack to Jace, dropping down onto one knee as she did so. Until she had figured out exactly who she had pissed off submission seemed to be the best course of action. Neela lowered her head, ears and tail while letting out a low whimper, all the while racking her brains to think if she had forgotten anything; being mostly dog the instincts of submission were not as strong in Neela and she had to make a conscious effort to remember them.

Nose all but buried in her fur Neela tried to calm the angry mother down, "I'm sorry. Grynn didn't mean any harm, she was just curious, she would never hurt a puppy." Neela paused a second, before continuing "If anything I think Grynn was impressed by Dalgina, not many puppies would hold eye contact with her." In truth Neela had no idea if this was true. Aside from Leon, who had been terrified of the bird, Grynn had never had any contact with a puppy before now, but flattery seemed a safe option, especially when about a puppy to her mother.

Nervously Neela waited, her raised leg tense and ready to run just in case Jace had taken Grynn's actions worse than it had first seemed. She was somewhat comforted by the fact that if it came down to that, Grynn would be able to clear the half a mile distance from where she was currently hovering in an instant, and razor sharp claws at several hundred miles an hour going towards your eyes made it difficult to continue a chase.
