The collie woman put even more distance between them and Jace feared that whatever bonds may had formed between them had been severed completely. A pained echo crossed her face although Neela's eyes were not high enough to see it. Her free arm twitched and the hybrid brought it up to rest underneath the elbow of the arm holding Dalgina close. Floppy ears pinned back as she watched the woman struggle and ultimately fail to raise her eyes upwards.

Neela explained some more and Jace began to doubt her earlier assumption as to the intelligence on the bird and its abilities to control its own instincts. She was more than willing to admit that maybe she had been wrong although her overreaction was just considering the knowledge she had lacked towards the bird's temperament and life style before Ichika. She was about to open her mouth to assume the woman that it was alright when a loud screech made her jump. Blue and amber immediately scoured the skies for the threat, anger bubbling upwards that Neela had lied to her, she had said that the falcon would leave and yet it had returned.

Her anger was short lived however as a figure exited the trees and into full view, the avian creature that swooped towards them quickly was neither falcon shaped or colored as the peregrine had been. Neela didn't seen to notice that the bird calling into the sky was not her own but another, one that had no one to vouch for its harmlessness. Her hand now flashed downwards quickly to the knife sheathed at her thighs the same time as her voice gave rise to speech, alarm coursing through the words,

"That's not Grynn. That is something else, something bigger." The elegant ceremonial dagger was pried loose, the bleached white bone handle gleaming in the weak sunlight. Teeth were yet again bared, this time at the threat from above that was rapidly gaining speed and closing in on the two dog hybrids.
