The feeling of Wretch’s arm sliding around her body was delightful and made the girl extremely happy. It was a direct clue to the fact that touching between the two of them wasn’t awkward anymore and was in fact a wanted thing. She smiled to herself and nuzzled closer still, relishing in the feel of the coywolf’s soft silver fur against her own. Tawny realized that she had been missing out on a lot in all of that time that she avoided physical contact. Of course she had craved to be touched, to be held and snuggled, someone to care for and to care for her…but she had always been to scared to get close to anyone.
With Wretch all of that was different. The thirst for touch was still there, but it was being quenched every time Wretch moved closer or showed that she cared. The need to care for another was being satisfied, with her ability to provide even the small things for her younger female companion. She smiled again and nodded slightly when Wretch spoke again, stilling her hand on the girl’s ribs and just letting it rest there. “I’m not used to it either…I’ve only done this once before…because of nightmares.”
