Itzal was surprised to see Io playing the role of a mother. It seemed kind of natural for her as well. She seemed not to mind the puppies playfulness. Maybe he had gotten the wrong impression the first time they had meant. She hadn't seemed like the mother type. Looks like he had been wrong. Itzal grinned at Io's response. How long have you been a mother? He was curious, because Itzal had seen Io not long ago, but here she was a mother with two pups, old enough to be running around.
Itzal watched one of the puppies sit down beside its mother and try to mock her pose. Itzal's lips twitched at the corned of his maw, and his eyes flicked to the other pup. This pup seemed to be more interested in what was going on around it. He looked between the two pups. They looked different, but were definitely brothers.
He shrugged when Io mentioned they shouldn't be out. Pups like to have fun. Sometimes it is best to let them. He wasn't trying to tell her how to raise her kids, he was just suggesting some friendly advice. He certainly wasn't an expert on this stuff, but he did remember when he was a pup. He looked up at the hotel, listening to Io as she explained her family lived in the hotel right now. It was good to know the hotel and village were part of Anathema, it meant their territory was probably larger. Itzal's ears perked up at the sound of a training ground. He would go their sometime when Alaki got it set up. He could use a place to really train and work. That sounds interesting. Do you know when he will have it set up?
