Deuce stepped back again as Noah caressed her feet. His words sent a chill down her spine. "What? What did you say?" Her voice raised in pitch as she stared in horror at her son. Her ears pinned back. "First off, noah, I am your mom. And I didn't abandon you or Tal or Jazper. I was forced to leave you all. I was forced to leave the pack by that wretched father of yours and his lies. Second of all, don't ever call me Dove. I hate that name. I've hated it since Lucifer branded me with it, and I still hate it now that he's dead."
She attempted to grab Noah by the arm to pull him to his feet. "Get up, Noah, and talk to me. What the hell have you gotten into?" She was furious and terrified for her son, for her little boy. She had once helped Lucifer through a patch like this. She had held him and nursed him to health. She didn't want to do the same for her son. However, she would if she needed to, since she didn't want to loose another child. She hated the thought of losing another child.
