Myrika knew the history of posting skulls along their borders, and she wondered if Carrion did. Perhaps the story was very well-known, and she was simply late on the uptake? It would have amused her, as she was supposed to be the Historian of the Inferni clan -- and twice over, too, by rank and her soon-to-be co-rank. How funny it would be if the one canine of Inferni who was supposed to know them best knew nothing at all! Myrika frequently felt this was the case, and it was too close to home for her to take any amusement in it. The tawny coyote saw little value in most of what she did, but neither did she openly denigrate herself -- she simply failed to see the usefulness in learning her history, in writing their history down, or any of the other things she did which may or may not have assisted Inferni.

Good, she declared, wagging her tail to show she was pleased. Everyone needs a break now and again. Myrika Tears, she said, introducing herself in turn. Have you been with Inferni long? I do like your decorations. I mean -- on yourself, not just the skulls, the woman said, speaking in rapid-fire succession more typical of a nervous Myrika. On the contrary to any anxiety, though, the roan-haired woman was rather happy to meet more canines of Inferni, and perhaps befriend them, as well. She liked her little schoolhouse farm, but she did get lonely out there. Perhaps if she forged more good relations with those of Inferni, she would have more visitors -- and thus, less loneliness. The prospect made Myrika's smile widen faintly, and the woman turned her head to look toward Zana, checking to see if her smallest cousin might join them.
