A day of work and fun

The last fence was in place and secured tightly. The Austral male stepped back and heaved a great sigh of relief. It had taken several months of hard work and a fair amount of rearranging, redrawing and remodeling but finally the stables and their surrounding paddocks were complete. Now Anathema has a place to hold their animals and tack, and extra food/resources if they so wished. The stables were roomy with each stall having enough space for the horse occupying it to lay down and even roll over if they wished. There was plenty of spare ones as well for new horses. He gave himself a tour of the masterpiece he had built. The only thing he had built that could rival this was the home he had built for Kailypso, there had been no converted hotel for the Italian princess, nothing but the best would do for her. Suddenly the man's demeanor dropped and his ears fell backwards, he missed Saxif so much. It was more than just a longing for the body, it was something else, something beyond the physical.

He resumed his tour more subdued than when he started. He ran a hand over the wooden wall as he walked. Heavy thoughts whirling around his mind. After the war and the party Saxif had disappeared and no matter how much he had searched while he could, not a hair or feather could be found of the alpha's daughter. He left the empty clean stables and wandered around the mostly paddocks, the goats eyed him with their freakish pupils as he passed but he didn't notice this time. He faintly recognized that now he would have to begin the process of relocating all the animals up here and mentally sighed. He didn't want to, his cheery mood has disappeared as his thoughts had darkened and now he found the idea of the task arduous and wearisome.

He was just about to turn around when he spotted a dark colored figure approaching from the direction of Thackary village. He knew it was Xyza without having to see her face or smell her scent for only Xyza wore that combination of clothing. Patiently the man waited for Io's half sibling to come closer, he knew she was a little afraid of him.
