It did not take long for her clan members to begin to assemble and she looked over them with pride in her eyes. They were the strength of Ichika, its backbone that allowed it to stand. Temo was the first to arrive punctual as ever as she gave him a nuzzle in greeting. Their children were not yet old enough to run with the pack but they would be soon, and they would have a world of skilled people to teach them how to. The wind ruffled her fur as in the distance Noah appeared looking mostly worse for wear and she smiled with pity for the sable man. He was trying she would give him that credit but he seemed to have fallen hard and long. He nipped at her cheek and she gave him a lick back, taking humor from the way he stared at Ookami before settling with a noise of discontent. Ookami was also amused by his actions, having heard about him from Jace.
This hunt would be a test of them all, Jace herself had never hunted these deer so she was also in the spotlight to come through and acquire some food. It would be the same rule for herself as for anyone else, if she didn't catch something then she didn't eat or got whatever anyone threw for her.
Next to arrive was Kiara, the white non luperci pup sitter had arrived rather quickly although apologised for being late in an effort to keep Jace sweet. She wasn't that much of a monster, honestly. Still her tan tipped tail beat a thumping rhythm against the ground as the lower ranked female came into hearing distance,
"Namaste Kiara. You're not late love, so relax. Good, we need all the people we can get." Next again was Neela the collie dog woman who Jace had met and had a slight altercation ith her bird. Jace could laugh about it now because Neela has explained to her that her bird didn't eat pups just small rodent. Jace had not apologized for her behavior because in her mind she was acting in defense of her child but had stated that the bird was welcome to come around and play with the pups under supervision from Jace if she so wanted. She suppressed a grin as the orange woman appeared to forget the Ichikan greeting and mumbled through it,
"Namaste Neela. Welcome to our hunting party." Jace was thrilled when Ansui showed up and the large dog man garnered a longer tail beat from her as she grinned at what she now mentally called an old friend. He knew of her sins and what she had done but he had not passed judgement on her and had helped her to try to atone for them, that alone placed him highly to her. Ookami shuffled his feet next to Jace, of all the others Ansui was the one that closest matched his size still Ookami still towered over Ansui as he did all the others, at almost five foot in his secui form he was almost taller than Jace standing in her optime.
After him, last of all came Shiloh behind everyone else. The call hadn't really been for Shiloh but Jace didn't have a problem with her joining in as long as she could keep up,
"Namaste Shiloh." She said with a bob of her head. Jace waited a further two minutes for anyone else to show up before standing up to address them all, anyone else who came along late would have to catch up. The only ones that she could think of who were missing were the aged hybrid Nehalennia, the fire tender Pripyat and Wretch.
"Okay for those of you who are not familiar with everyone here. Ookami, Temo, Noah, Kiara, Neela, Ansui and Shiloh." She pointed out each person as she said there name with her nose, it was quicker than getting everyone to introduce themselves.
"Now the reason I've gathered you all here today is a test. A warm up practice hunt for the ones you'll most likely want to do for the Hibernal. Remember those who don't catch anything don't get to eat or get the scraps." She said with a rouge grin, the whole idea of it was humorous to her. "Now I know pretty much all of you know how to hunt in normal circumstances so I don't feel that a normal hunt would do us any good. For today's hunt we'll be using this town, New Glasgow as our hunting ground and we'll be hunting a small type of deep that inhabits it." As though called forth by an act of the gods one of the very deer she was talking about suddenly burst from one of the side streets onto to stop and stare in abject fear at the gathering of wolves before turning and sprinting back the way it had come,
"Now these deer are fast and nimble you'll have to use more than speed to catch them, you need to use your heads if you're to secure yourself a meal. Trickery and cunning as well. Anyone who does not catch something will go hungry or be left with the scraps just as we would do for the Hibernal to give you a bit of motivation. You're not required to hunt in a group if you don't want, its perfectly fine if you go off on your own, if you bring down one together then of course you're allowed to share your catch with the other person or pelple. Any questions?" Jace finished her speech and waited for the questions she was sure would come. As she waited her eyes swung around the assembled before landing on Shiloh, the sunya was the lowest one here, Jace knew she was pregnant and was willing to make exceptions for her, they couldn't really expect a carrying woman to do the same amount of work as one who was unbound by the bonds of upcoming motherhood. Although Jace herself had taken part in a hunt while carrying her own, that was her own choice. After the others had asked their questions and departed she would approach the scarred grey woman.
