Word Count → 500+ :: Light's too romantic for his own good lol.

Light had been waiting for this day since first meeting the young artist in the rushing waters. He had oddly taken into account every detail even those she would not see. Normally a female never brought such warmth to his stone heart but this one had and he couldn’t ignore the intrigue. With the thought of the youth he had met only a short time ago still on his mind Hotaru was greatly present as well. Upon the happy return to his pack land Light stumbled upon something that made his heart melt with joy.

He had found a flower still well in bloom upon the last months before winter ravaged the land. Between his hunting and trapping the male had taken care of the plant protecting it from the first frost of winter by building hide cover for the thing. He ensured it received its daily sunlight and pleasant drink of warm water each day. He cared for the thing like it was dear to him as any pup. When the first snowfall came his heart rushed with fear for the plant but it survived. The persistent male’s efforts were about to pay off for as he left AniWaya to meet with the blind female he finally got to pick it. With roots still intact and wrapped in a moist cloth the gift was ready to be presented. As he travelled with the flower brushed plant he hoped Hotaru would find their soft tiny petals a delight to her impressive sense of touch.

He had even attempted a slight hand at carving for her for he knew a charcoal covered stone would fall short on her. There for he carved a drawing of her and her delightful hawk in that meadow that threw his breath into halt. The helplessly romantic male though feared that these plethora of gifts would be mistaken, for as much as he adored her, Light couldn’t help but to feel more attracted to the males of his kind. He almost hoped his mind would change but knew if anything came to fruit or not the female would have to first be warned. The thought of telling her his secret both excited him and terrified him, but he knew it needed to be done.

When he was near the borders of her pack that he had ensured she returned safely to, Light mindlessly patted his fur down and ensured his hair was neatly groomed into place. He knew she wouldn’t see it but it made him feel more comfortable. He had tied a bounty of gifts to a satchel that held the bark carving and delicate plant. He began to round the borders hoping to find her in all her splendour awaiting his arrival. The male would be broken hearted if she had forgotten or chose not to show so he prayed to the Great Spirit hoping she was there. When the first bits of her scent started to fill his nose his pace started to quicken and he hoped no one would be around for the normally proud male was almost as excited as a pup ready to explore the land for the first time.
