It was hard to imagine that Silvano could have ever had something as beautiful as Giselle in his lap. He never figured that he would have his own someone, just like his mother had his father. He felt so happy to have her, especially now that her wishes were satisfied and he had fulfilled that requirement of hers. Maybe she still did not understand how damn happy he was to feel her beneath his finger tips. Silvano felt that he would want to gaze upon her for the rest of his life, so long as she would be smiling back at him. He did not want her to cry anymore, never shed one of sadness or pain. It was a noble dream, full of knightly chivalry. Unrealistic. Some pain would head their way, be it soon or in months or even years. Children were definitely on the horizon for the two of them and there were plenty of tears involved with those little things.

All these thoughts were racing through his head, like some kind of wild fire. Pages of books ran through his mind as he thought about those children they did not have. It was going to be a trial, just like their relationship was. The problems and work never ceased, not even after their wonderful mateship ceremony. There was more to come, so much more. It was as though they had come through the woods only to find a mountain to climb over with a river beyond it waiting. Over the mountain and across the river
waited the bog, swamp, oceans. Thankfully there were no stars to traverse, but that would come in its own time too. Hopefully, such a time would be long in coming and the two of them would not know the stars for years. That was his prayer for his entire family. Even if part of it was broken to pieces.

Ghita and Jasper had seemed happy for a while. Then they separated, dividing the children and alienating each other. Jasper, bold knight and strong warrior that he was, left to form some other pack. It was for other fighters. Silvano wanted to see him, to ask him for help training. He was not skilled enough yet, and he felt there was more to learn. How else could he protect Giselle and, eventually, their descendants. Without Jasper, who would fight for the Dreamers? Who would help lead them? Silvano had to try, as much as he loved his books and the quiet. He could be an educated knight, couldn't he? Hopefully he would never be needed. But that's what he had thought before Maska and his ilk. He had to protect them. He had to take his uncle's example to heart.

And Jasper served as a valuable example, leaving his mate and children to their own devices. Several of his get had left the Dreamers to go his brotherhood of warriors. Ghita was alone again, and for some reason, hiding something. Everyone had secrets, even the calm and collected Dreamers. Silvano had had a secret. He still had a secret, and she was in his lap causing him torment.

The fire in his gut was rising and he felt it burn ever higher as she found his lips again and pressed her hands against his broad shoulders. Silvano felt her warmth in his hands and swallowed hard. Fighting his desires and hormones was difficult, especially with her light scent clouding his mind like thick smoke. Breaking their embrace, the Sadira pulled the woman close to him. His head was pressed against her neck, nose just above her chest. "They join together.," he corrected her, voice husky and breath beginning to turn rough. His hands wrapped around her back, pressing against the small of it. His flesh felt warm, like fire. But would she understand?
