He had lived in a cave with only his sister for such a long time that he did not know what it was to be a part of a unified, social pack. The kingdom had once been that way, but Caspa was correct in thinking that they no longer were like that. Even without feeling it, the King could see it clear as day.

As the wispy-furred Courtier continued with her short speech, Vigilante turned to her with a keen interest showing in his gaze of jade. He knew Terra, though not very well. She was young and seemed somewhat impulsive and a bit of a trickster, but she did not seem like a problematic member of the Court and he liked her, certainly. She had a sense of loyalty to the pack and he could appreciate that. "What is it that you two are thinking of?" he inquired with a genuine interest in knowing. He did not know either well enough to guess.
