The coywolf knew that she, nor he, had felt this down and out since the loss of their other son - but he dared not bring that up now. He felt her press her smaller body against him, and responded by holding her closer, his beaten bangles ringing softly. Whatever she cared to express with words were left unsaid for now, but it mattered little to the multicolored male. The hand in the woman's hair began to move through the curtain of fire, knowing he could only do so much to comfort the woman with the problems that lay on the surface. What lay beneath, however, was something Skye rarely showed in the open.. that sullen look that stole the light from her features. He himself could not create such a light, but silently he promised to return all that she had lost.
As the woman against him shifted, his grip relaxed and fell casually down to her waist, reluctant to let her go just yet. His eyes flickered to hers, and there he stared with a questioning look at her expression brightened; a kindle to what the coywolf longed to return to the vivacious woman. Both ears swiveled as he carefully caught her words, like a gnat on a spiderweb, and returned her spirited smile with a grin of his own. "A'course," he exclaimed, moving to kiss her forehead. With their gaze broken, Bangle briefly glanced about the room. "Guess th' rascals are out havin' adventures of their own t'day, eh?" He commented in the empty house, though it didn't bother the bat-eared male, welcoming the brief respite from them in that moment. As orange-yellow eyes focused back on the red-headed woman, a hand moved up to caress a cream colored cheek. "How've y' been?" It was a question he truly needed an answer to, though he briefly knew of the most recent, traumatic events that had put further weight on her shoulders. Ears perked upwards, in an attempt to listen to anything - everything - she had to say.
