Firefly knew that she should have just brought the young child to Zana when she first arrived, besides, it was what she had been asked to do, but a few more days in her care hadn't hurt the child and she had wanted to test the waters of the clan first and foremost. While it seemed that Zana would tolerate her appearance at the borders she knew that they were still weary of her kind and she was still expected to gravel like a dog. A dog she was not, and graveling was never something the woman had done, even when she had been imprisoned in the clan. Now that she understood what grounds the clan was on, though leadership had changed it seemed that nothing else had.

She had returned once more to the border of their lands, her crimson locks glossy and perfect as she carried the small boy cradled in her arms. She was returning a de le Poer child to the clan, something that the clan hadn't done when her own sister had wandered to their borders, here she would show the difference between a true canine and the cowards of the clan. They seemed to want to start trouble but in her own experience they had never wanted to finish it. She gazed down at the small sleeping boy, his markings so much like his father, but those eyes belonged to a Sadira child. She hadn't said anything when Ryan and DaVinci had asked her to bring him on her voyage to these lands but she doubted in her heart the boy would stay within the clan.

She lifted her head and let out a pure and solid howl. A voice that belonged to a wolf called Zana to the borders once again. She didn't care who heard, what trouble she brought upon her sister, or who else might show. She was fulfilling her side of a pact between sibling, and now poor Zana who had no clue of her own role she would soon play would begin her own duty to their family. She smiled bitterly at the idea and waited.

She had made a promise to bring him this far, but she had also made a vow to herself that when the time came and questions he had about his duel heritage, questions she would answer. He was wolf through and through. The color of his pelt alone showed that, and though his ears were tapered and slim she doubted they would blossom into the true ears of a coyote. Even his muzzle was short and thick. She smiled to herself as she studied her little nephew. Yes, she would be there when the clan failed him, in time, in time, she knew.
