Suddenly his reverie was broken as the female shifted against her wet skirt. This sudden movement brought Helotes back to reality and he stood straight watched her. What had he been doing? Why had he been staring at Halo in such a way? She was beautiful there was no doubt, and she would make an excellent female for copulation, but she was his superior, his master, and a downright bitch. What had he been thinking? Helotes tried desperately to push these negative thoughts aside though, trying to regain the sense of her that he had just had moments ago, when he had thought that perhaps all these things could be possible. But it was not to be.
Though he felt as if he had seen a subtle glimpse of something within her posture, within her eyes, it was quickly replaced by flippant nonchalance. He watched as she placed her fists upon her well-shaped hips and shrugged at him. He had lost her. She was drawn the curtain fully again and there was nothing he could do about it now. She wished him could luck and turned, walking away with that oh so alluring gait. When she was far enough away Helotes let his breath escape him, hardly having noticed that he had been keeping in it. That was a close one.
Sad that it had to end that way, Helotes turned back to the ocean and crossed his arms, letting his mind mull over the exchange that he had just had with the Triarii. Perhaps it had been nothing, but perhaps it could have been everything. He decided that he would leave her be for a few days, and then perhaps invade her privacy again. Somehow he felt, that if he kept trying, these few little steps at a time, that finally the exotic flow that was Halo would bloom for him.
