They boys questions as they ought to do, curiosity was important for them but in this situation it made everything a lot more awkward. Io looked at him and Leon looked back with slight panic within his eyes. There was no script this time to spout to them and Io faltered as she tried to think of one, the only idea that was within his mind she might find distasteful. There was a rumble of understanding that came from his chest, Sara had dumped his child upon her grandmother and family for them to look after, it made him slightly angry but he turned to the boys, trying to twist it into a situation that seemed plausible,

"She is your hermana, your sister. When you were born she was very sick, so we sent her to live with Sara and his friend, a woman who might know how to make her better." As he spoke his hand again descended to stroke the little she yote upon her head but drew back rapidly when she accidentally touched Io's paw.

"We did not tell you in case she could not be made better, we did not want you to be sad." It was the best he could come up with and certainly plausible although they might be angry at Io and Leon for not revealed that they supposedly had a sister they knew nothing about. He glanced at Io from the corner of his eye before turning a smile onto his sons,

"But she is better now, she is still weak though so you guys have to play gently with her, okay?" Booth boys nodded, too surprised to do much else and Leon breathed an inward sigh of relief, even if they did not believe the story at least they had not openly challenged the idea.
