Eclipse was busy working on the food to pay attention to Anatoliy. She was in her element here, and it was a bliss almost to match her love for hunting. It was amazing what one could do with food and vegitables, and plants. She could make one thing and add something to it to make it taste almost as though it were a different kind of food. Looking up at his question she said simply.
“Trial and error really. And endless amounts of cookbooks.”
She said, thinking back on her learning of some pretty good recipes. If her mother hadn’t taught her how to read, or started teaching her how, she wouldn’t know. Now it was thanks to the books, on not just cooking but canine recipes. She had learned many things about what she should substitute for old human food, as well as some good recipes for pets, but she made her own additions and subtractions as there wasn’t any “dog food” left. There weren’t many of those recipes though, and she used them as a reference as to what types of foods she shouldn’t feed her fellow canines. She turned over the fish with a spatula, blowing on it lightly, watching the steam rise from the fat of the fish. It was juicy and cooking very nicely! She was happy with this and it wouldn’t be long before she could serve him his slices. She smiled happily wagging her tail, happy that their meeting turned out far better than their initial greeting.
