Two faced misery

Upon her wondering, her hunt, her soul weary traveling, her patrol of the borders, all of the four rolled up into one activity at the same time, she could multitask quite well by now with having to keep track of four children, three of which were very hyperactive and apt to escaping when she wasn't looking. The grey scaled woman was simply happy for some time alone for once, it made a wildly different but welcomed change, soon she would have to return back to the hectic rush that had engulfed her life since the children had opened their eyes and had learned to walk and talk. Her eyes zeroed in on a rabbit that was careless and had abandoned its watchful guard to enthusiastically nibble on a piece of grass or roots that it had found, whatever it was munching on had taken its attention off of danger and had placed its life right into her very paws.

She crept closer to the lapin creature, her humming had ceased now into silence as steady breaths came forth to produce smokey clouds of water and rejected air. It was perhaps luck or good fortune that determined the order of what happened next. Her scent and shadow away from the rabbit ti did not notice her attack with a hind paw until it was too late, a mere second after its spine was snapped by a crushing blow there was a soft bark that echoed through the trees, such was her concentration that Jace leapt away from her quarry into a defensive crouch. Had the bark come before her capture the rabbit would have most certainly have escaped at this moment.

Her effort was not wasted however and the furry long eared mammal remained lifeless and limp where it had been forced down against hardened ice instead of leaping away into the bushes for freedom. The hybrid's body relaxed as she realised that the sound that had startled her so much was simply a loner at the borders instead of an attack of any kind. Her racing heart struggled to calm itself and her breathing was increased slightly from the shock. She reached down to pick up her catch and held it by its rear legs as she wandered towards the voice of the canine she had heard.

So close she was to the borders that it was only a handful of seconds before her quarry now entered her sights. A hybrid like herself that much was obvious, large ears and a small muzzle so coyote or jackal Jace assumed. As she closed in the grey lady finally managed to pick up the others scent proving herself to be of coyote and wolf ancestry, a union that Jace was not particularly opposed to, there were some however who would look down upon such a mixing of genes as this and proclaim the caramel woman before her as scum before ever getting to learn of her personality or even her name. She was not one of those people however, and a small welcoming smile settled onto her maw as her voice softly spoke,

"Stranger. You are at Ichika's borders. What do you seek with us?"
