Magnolia had spent the last month avoiding Denver. Even though the mutt wasn’t directly with her, he still plagued her mind night and day. Her daily border scouting excursions were used for the sole purpose of being alone; she had stopped inviting her friend to join her after their last interaction. She needed time away from him, and she needed to clear her head. The loneliness was killing her though; she was messing things up with her one ally in this dreadfully depressing pack. Magnolia didn’t like it, but knew it would be figured out eventually.

Magnolia had sent one of the slaves ( she couldn’t remember which one) to Denver’s home well over a week ago. She ordered them to tell Denver that he had work to do for her. That one trespasser had pissed her off, and so she told the slave where and what she wanted built. It wasn’t exactly the kindest way to tell Denver what she wanted; it was pretty selfish and cowardly on her part, but she didn’t care. Her ego had inflated way more than she had initially thought since getting her promotion and recognition from Sirius into the family. It was elating, and most of all, she knew she was more trusted by the Auxiliary and Boss than Denver was. The little competition she had in her mind was getting intense, but she didn’t care. So long as she one-upped that man she would be happy. She didn’t even know if Denver cared or not, but she secretly hoped he did.

She had heard nothing from the slave over the course of a few days so she supposed it was time to go check it out. The trap was to be built right where that one ignorant wolf had ruined her day hoping that a deep hole would be enough to prevent any more breaches in security. She was also a co-ranked family member now, and she was expected to do her job, even if it meant that Denver had to do the grunt work. Magnolia was a lady, and she wasn’t about to dig a hole and get herself all dirty.

She had awoken bright and early, knowing it would take a while to get to the location. She was in a fairly good mood, and the clear day made her even happier. She took off northwards without a further adieu, and after some time the dainty lady made her way over to the desired location. A grin seeped into her maw despite her attempt to hide it; Denver was there, as expected, though she couldn’t see whatever he was doing. How’s it comin’? the lady said carefully, pushing away a branch from her face as she neared him. Her eyes were shining with happiness to see him after so long, even though her stomach was tightening up.
