Hotaru
Sometimes the light that guides us along our paths, is not something that we can see, but something deep inside of us.

The sound of footsteps brought Hotaru out of her own little world. The footsteps weren't all that close, nor were they familiar. The blind wolf had learned to identify individuals by the way they walked. Some, like Shawchert, walked with heavy gate while others walked silently or smoothly. Whoever was approaching was not someone Hotaru knew well. She couldn't help but sigh a little and hope that the stranger would simply walk past her. Although, it had been one of those days.

A quiet night to herself didn't seem possible as the footsteps paused near Hotaru and the voice of Juliet reached her ears. Hotaru's red tipped ears flicked towards Juliet, but she didn't move anything else but her hand that was gently stroking Fawkes. Juliet's voice was monotone, a trait Hotaru had not noticed during their previous brief meeting. The blind wolf took note of her quick, light steps and memorized the pattern for future reference. "Yes, your Juliet if I recall. I'm glad you like him, although you may want to step back. Fawkes won't bite but he won't stop shouting until you do."

Fawkes had been enjoying his evening. After a nice relaxing day of basking in the sun, the cool air and gentle touch of his master were a perfect ending to a perfect day. His bliss was interrupted by a cream colored wolf who came way too close for comfort. Fawkes fanned is wings a little and ordered the new wolf to step back in low speech. She was too close to his master, not to mention she had interrupted his quiet time.

Hotaru was not one for appearances, nor did she care what other people thought of her. However, she recognized that it was important not to be rude, especially to ones pack mate. Although the blind wolf desperately wished that Juliet would simply leave she at least made one small attempt to be polite. "How have you been Juliet?"
