Hotaru
Sometimes the light that guides us along our paths, is not something that we can see, but something deep inside of us.

And he was hooked. Such a comment could not have been made by a bad wolf, surely not. Fawkes didn't quite get why Hotaru disliked the chatty wolf. She seemed just fine to him. Fawkes puffed out even more with pride before relaxing his feathers. Unlike wolves, Fawkes was not one to stay up late so his energy was running low. With a click of his beak, he took a few moments to smooth his feather's down before closing his eyes to go to sleep. As the bird relaxed, his feather's pupped out again making his previous attempt to smooth them fruitless.

The questions just never seemed to stop with this one. By now, Hotaru had given up hope that Juliet might go away. With her peace and quiet so thoroughly disturbed she simply resigned herself to Juliet's never ending questions. Hotaru could only hope that once the young wolf's curiosity was satisfied that she would go away.

Hotaru removed her hand when she heard Fawkes click his beak. He wanted to sleep, something she was sure he needed. Fawkes was no owl, nor should he be expected to act like one. Hotaru removed her hand from his breast and placed it into her lap. She turned to face the young wolf, just as she seemed to wish. The grey wolf's eyes stared blankly out into the world, taking in nothing but darkness. "It is very difficult to look at you when I cannot see."

The blind wolf did not take offense to Juliet's direct question. In fact, she preferred such questions (at least when it came to her blindness). Hotaru did not like it when people tried to test her sight. It felt like trickery, which was too close to betrayal. The way Juliet phrased her question was a little weird though. Hotaru couldn't help but wonder if perhaps Juliet did not know she was blind, or if she simply did not understand the disability.
