While Salvia was not a woman that felt the need to hide her emotions, she subconsciously kept herself distant and cold. It was a natural behavior, brought on by her instinctive need to dominate. By behaving in such a manner she distanced herself from these supposed lesser beings and thus rose above them. Regardless of her beauty or bloodline, Salvia did not see any value in this Esmeralda because she did not prove herself. Fancy talk was a trivial thing, like her mother’s magic—such skills fell short with her, so in tuned with the razor-truth of life as she was.

So she watched but did not truly look at the creature before her. Skinny, thin—too dog-like to be considered a wolf. That fluffy pelt hardly looked warm enough to last winter. She dismissed the idea of bones providing anything more than simple eye-candy. Even she did not find true beauty in them, but admired the natural behavior of bones. Studying them in this way allowed her insight to the animals she hunted. Just as Esmeralda half-observed did Salvia half-listen; she had no concern when it came to the methods or means of burial. It was not an issue she dwelt on. Any animals she did not bring back she left for the wild to dispose of.

The name the dog used for her slave was unfamiliar and Salvia narrowed her eyes at it. “Its name is TaeKyung,” she replied, her guttural pronunciation of the name thick. It came out as TA-KY-ON-G, though the g was a sharper noise as her German tongue preferred. “I do not think it serves to change a slave’s name; they respond to their own well enough,” she added, though did not dwell on her own difference of breaking a wild animal. Used to horse behavior, she had simply adapted this to wolves. “I will keep your offer in mind; if it can work, I will need hands here soon to help expand this building.” Salvia did not gesture to the barn, believing that the dog would understand her intent.
